NOTES FROM THE TABLE
How do I win Spider Solitaire?

Here is what to know. Each qualifying sequence contains thirteen face-up cards. The game removes a completed sequence automatically from the bottom of a column. Collect eight complete same-suit sequences from King down to Ace. Clearing all eight sequences accounts for the full deck of 104 cards.

What makes a sequence movable?

The key details are straightforward. Try selecting a shorter matching segment from the bottom of the column. A single exposed card can land on a card one rank higher regardless of suit. A group must be face up, descending by one rank at a time and entirely in one suit. A change in suit breaks the group even when the rank order is correct.

Why can I not deal from the stock?

Here is what to know. The stock button cannot deal after all five stock rows have been used. Move a card or legal sequence into each empty column to meet that requirement. Every tableau column must contain at least one card before a stock deal. A stock deal adds exactly one face-up card to each of the ten columns.

Can I put any card in an empty column?

A King needs an empty column because it cannot land on another rank. An empty column accepts any exposed card or movable same-suit sequence. Kings are allowed but are not required. Empty columns must be filled before the next stock deal.

Does the game save my progress?

Keep these details in mind. Each difficulty has its own saved game. With saving enabled, progress is stored in this browser on this domain. Clearing browser storage, using a different device or turning saving off can remove access to that progress. The Privacy & Cookie Settings page lets you manage local saving.

How can I revisit an earlier position?

Here is what to know. Undo reverses a recent successful move or stock deal, including automatic flips and collections. Up to 200 recent action snapshots are retained when storage permits. Replay restarts the same shuffled deal from its opening position. New game creates a different shuffle and replaces the current deal for that difficulty.

Can every random deal be won?

On this website, the following points apply. Undo or Replay can help you explore a different approach when progress stalls. Hint suggests a legal move from the visible position. Hints do not inspect hidden cards to provide a complete solution. The game uses random shuffles and does not promise that every deal is winnable.

Are touch controls available?

Keep these details in mind. Tap a movable card or the first card of a matching descending group, then tap a destination column. Dragging is also supported on the card table. Rotating your phone may give you a wider view of all ten columns. The mobile menu opens from the menu icon at the top of the page.

Do I need an account or a download?

Here is what to know. JavaScript must be enabled for interactive play. The learning pages remain readable without JavaScript. The Spider game runs in your browser after the page and its resources load. No player account, purchase or app installation is required.
